Furuno Launches New FFGR-10 Anti-Jamming and Anti-Spoofing GNSS Receiver

Written by Furuno News | Sep 23, 2026, 1:08:56 PM

GNSS jamming and spoofing are no longer theoretical threats. Deliberate interference with satellite navigation signals is on the rise worldwide, particularly in Northern Europe, the Middle East and other regions where shipping traffic is dense. Vessels that lose their position source — or worse, receive a false one — face serious risks to safety, efficiency and security.

Furuno is proud to announce the release of the FFGR-10, a high-precision, multi-frequency, multi-constellation GNSS receiver built to keep navigating through interference.

Validated in the World's Toughest GNSS Environment

Last week, Furuno Finland returned to Jammertest 2026 in Norway — the world's leading live GNSS interference test event, where receivers are subjected to highly sophisticated, real-world jamming and spoofing scenarios.

Rather than keeping the unit fixed indoors with an external antenna, Furuno tested the FFGR-10 in a moving vehicle. This approach replicates the natural, dynamic conditions experienced by vessels operating at sea, making the results directly relevant to real maritime operations.

Under live, sophisticated jamming and spoofing scenarios, the FFGR-10 demonstrated outstanding resilience:

  • Strong spoofing defences: The FFGR-10 resisted deceptive signals and was only spoofed under very strong spoofing conditions.

  • Exceptional jamming resistance: The FFGR-10 maintained its position in demanding jamming conditions, losing its fix only under very strong jamming power.

  • Rapid recovery: After jamming events subsided, the FFGR-10 restored its position promptly, without any need for a reboot.

  • Resilience across bands: When jamming affected any of the L1, L2 and L5 bands, the FFGR-10 continued to deliver a reliable position thanks to its concurrent multi-band reception.

Combined with the Tallysman AJ977XF anti-jamming antenna, which provides 20 dB (typical) wideband suppression of low-elevation interference across all GNSS bands, the FFGR-10 delivers outstanding resilience in jammed and spoofed environments.

Key Features at a Glance

  • Concurrent reception of L1/L2/L5 GPS, Galileo, GLONASS, BeiDou and QZSS signals.

  • Jamming and spoofing-resistant design for reliable positioning in high-interference environments.

  • 10 Hz output update rate; 1.5 m horizontal positioning accuracy.

  • IEC 60945 marine compliant; suitable as a backup unit for wheelmarked SOLAS GNSS receivers (subject to flag state requirements).

  • NMEA-0183 v4.11 interfaces (GGA, VTG, ZDA, DTM, RMC): 2 x 4800 bps at 1 Hz and 2 x 38400 bps at 10 Hz.

  • Compact, simple to install and easy to integrate into all platforms; 9–36 VDC, max. 2 W.

  • Pairs with the FFSP-100 monitoring device, which raises an instant alarm when GNSS signals are jammed or spoofed, so crews can react and switch to the FFGR-10.

Disclaimer

No GNSS receiver can guarantee absolute immunity. Under sufficiently strong jamming or sophisticated spoofing, the FFGR-10 may also lose its position or be affected. What the FFGR-10 offers is significantly improved protection compared with standard wheel-marked GNSS equipment — proven in live testing — plus real-time awareness of interference so crews can respond with confidence and maintain situational awareness at all times.
