The CSH-8L MARK-2 is a full-circle scanning sonar designed for rapid detection of fish schools, individual fish, and changing underwater conditions. It provides a 360° view of the vessel, displaying fish distribution and seabed conditions in 16 colors for enhanced clarity. The system includes a standard 600 mm stroke hull unit (with an optional 400 mm version), a transceiver unit, and a processor unit.

Operating at 85 kHz, the CSH-8L MARK-2 is classified as a mid-frequency sonar. Its narrow beam width and superior target identification capabilities make it ideal for detecting fish near the vessel or in shallow waters. It effectively separates fish from bottom echoes, making bait fish easier to track. The built-in automatic tilt scanning feature enhances its suitability for both midwater trawlers and purse seiners.

Designed for versatility, the sonar features a compact keyboard and a black box configuration for flexible installation. A range of monitors is available to meet different operational needs, with Furuno’s MU-series marine monitors specifically engineered for maritime professionals. For a second station setup, an additional display and a small remote controller can be easily connected to the processor unit.
