Furuno is pleased to announce the launch of TZ iBoat 4 by MaxSea, a significant update to its mobile navigation application, now available for the first time on Android. This release marks a major milestone, delivering a redesigned interface, enhanced user experience, seamless integration with the TIMEZERO ecosystem and expanded functionality to better support mariners at sea.

A Redesigned Experience for All Users

Previously exclusive to iOS, TZ iBoat 4 has been completely rebuilt to ensure a seamless, scalable, and consistent experience across both platforms.

The new architecture, combined with a modernized graphics engine, allows for a more intuitive and streamlined navigation experience, tested extensively in real-world conditions by a global community of sailors, motorboaters, and sportfishing enthusiasts.

The introduction of the TZ Bar simplifies navigation between key features, with dedicated screens for Weather, SportFishing, Instruments, Logbook, Anchor, Sounder, and Tide. Each screen is tailored to its specific function, ensuring clarity and ease of use.

Enhanced Weather Features for Safer Navigation

TZ iBoat 4 introduces major improvements to its weather capabilities, including:

• A dedicated weather screen accessible from the TZ Bar, centralizing essential information for quick decision-making.

• Real-time updates when online, with offline access to pre-downloaded data.

• A next-generation Rain Radar with extended coverage and lightning strike integration, providing deeper insights into storm activity.

• High-resolution weather models for more accurate, localized forecasts. 

These enhancements ensure that users can anticipate risks and navigate with confidence, even in challenging conditions.

Seamless Integration within the TIMEZERO-Furuno Ecosystem

Users can effortlessly connect their mobile devices to Furuno NavNet TZtouch multifunction displays and TIMEZERO PC software. Real-time sharing of routes, waypoints, and synchronized TZ MAPS charts via the TZ Cloud ensures smoother sailing and fewer interruptions at the helm. With TZ iBoat, they can access weather, AIS, radar overlays, and vessel data from anywhere on deck, ensuring navigation remains seamless and up to date. Wireless integration with TZtouch elevates their on-water workflow.

Improved Connectivity and Usability

The update includes simplified NMEA instrument connection, allowing users to:

• Enable, disable, reorder, and configure data sources with clear visibility of connection status and data validity.

• Prioritize multiple NMEA gateways to define which source takes precedence when multiple inputs provide the same data.

• Manage advanced parameters such as depth display, transducer/keel offsets, damping, and temperature adjustments.

Additionally, TZ iBoat 4 introduces a dedicated latitude/longitude keyboard, optimized for use at sea. The keyboard features large, guided keys to minimize input errors and supports multiple coordinate formats (decimal degrees, degrees/minutes/seconds, or degrees and decimal minutes) without requiring changes to global settings.
