Automatic Clutter Elimination
ACE is a technology that provides unmatched echo clarity by adjusting and optimizing the radar image in any sea condition.
The Automatic Clutter Elimination (ACE) feature is a technology that automatically adjuts the radar image with the push of a single button.
Thanks to Furuno's exclusive algorithm based on signal processing (EAV), the system modifies clutter reduction filters and gain control according to sea and weather conditions selected by the user (calm/rough sea/hard rain).
Echoes of rain and waves are automatically removed
When the ACE feature is turned on, the system automatically applies image adjustments like Sea surface Echo Attenuation (SEA) or rain and snow reflection (RAIN) reduction, regardless of sea conditions.
Additionally, the ACE feature can now eliminate false echoes that were difficult to remove with conventional and manual image adjustments.*
Since the ACE gain can be adjusted separately from the normal gain, it becomes even easier for users to see the images clearly.
Regardless of sea conditions, ACE consistently provides optimal video settings, allowing the user to focus on observing the surroundings without constantly tweaking the image settings. *
The level of false echo reduction depends on the weather/sea conditions and the equipment being used.
"ACE technology represents a significant breakthrough for the maritime industry. "Previously, removing false echoes was a time-consuming manual process that required a high level of expertise. This innovation not only enhances navigational safety but also allows operators to focus more on strategic decision-making rather than manual adjustments."

Line of sight of a Radar
Radar waves propagate along Earth's surface, but due to diffraction effect, these waves propagate in a slightly curved manner. The degree of diffraction is determined by many factors including atmosphere density. In general, the diffraction curve allows the wave to go beyond the line-of-sight by about 6%
