Target Analyzer™

Dangerous targets can be immediately identified through innovative color-code system

What is Target Analyzer™?

Target Analyzer™ is a cutting-edge technology that evaluates targets and highlights the hazardous ones that pose a collision risk to your ship, using various colors to indicate the level of danger.

Category-TargetAnalyzer

Target Analyzer™ is a cutting-edge technology that evaluates targets and highlights those that pose a collision risk to your ship, using a color-coding system based on the level of danger.

By presenting these hazardous targets in various colors, it simplifies the identification process and enables early threat detection, ensuring safer navigation.

How does Target Analyzer™ works?

The type of echo is automatically determined and displayed in corresponding colors

Available in both Magnetron and Solid-State Radars

Differences between Magnetron vs Solid-State Radars

Magnetron-based Doppler radars utilize a vacuum tube technology that generates high-power microwave signals, making them cost-effective but less stable and prone to frequency drift. They are commonly used in older radar systems. In contrast, solid-state Doppler radars employ semiconductor technology, offering greater reliability, stability, and lower maintenance.

These radars provide consistent frequency output and enhanced signal processing capabilities, making them ideal for modern applications requiring precise measurements. While solid-state radars are more expensive initially, their long-term operational efficiency and accuracy often justify the investment, especially in critical weather monitoring and aviation safety systems.

Furuno's Target Analyzer™ with its color-coded recognition feature is compatible with both Magnetron and Solid-State Doppler Radars.

Doppler Analysis

The Target Analyzer™ function, integrated into the DRS - NXT Radar series, utilizes Doppler analysis to track hazardous targets in real time by assessing their approach using the Doppler effect. Stationary targets appear in green, hazardous targets in red, and rain echoes in blue when "Rain mode" is activated.

Echo Analysis

Furuno's professional-grade FAR Series Radars, equipped with the Target Analyzer™, quickly scan and analyze targets to determine potential collision risks. The Echo Analysis method identifies a wider range of targets compared to Doppler Analysis, including moving and stationary objects, as well as rain and snow, each displayed in distinct colors. This method ensures that only targets posing a collision threat, based on their trajectory intersecting with the vessel's path, are marked as dangerous.
