ABOUT
The Hellenic Marine Environment Protection Association (HELMEPA) is a Greek non-profit organization founded in 1982 by seafarers and shipowners to promote the protection of the marine environment and enhance safety at sea.
HELMEPA works to prevent marine pollution from ships, raise environmental awareness, and provide training and educational programs for maritime professionals and young people. Through cooperation across the maritime industry, environmental campaigns and its Marine Environment Awareness initiatives in schools, HELMEPA plays an important role in promoting sustainable shipping and ocean conservation in Greece and internationally.
